Dunsborough Equine Lodge is located just five minutes from Dunsborough township on a 64 acre private property.  We offer a range of horse accommodation from short and long term agistment and include full board, part board and some DIY options.  Our paddocks are large and all have safe fencing and self watering troughs. 

The stables are fully covered, with large walk in / walk out yards under lights.  With hot and cold water, covered tie up bays, heat lamps, tack room, double size fenced sand arena and access to beach and bush riding close by, we have all you need to enjoy your riding whether it is for pleasure or competition.   We pride oursleves on personalised care and a friendly environment.

This is a full service and includes all your feed requirements*, rug change morning and evening and your horse stabled under lights with access to a large walk in / walk out covered yard (also under lights) and turned out during the day in a large individual paddock.

You will have access to all our facilities, as well as an area in the main tack room.

* One hard feed per day, quality meadow hay twice daily.  Supplements at client's expense.

For those clients that prefer to take care of their horses feed requirements themselves.  We will feed your horse once daily with  the feed you have provided.  We can offer a rug service with this package and you have full access to our facilities.  Perfect for the busy person who loves to be a part of their horses care requirements.

DIY NOT AVALABLE

We have limited DIY options for those that like to do it all themselves.  We require our DIY clients to feed their horse on a daily basis so please note this is NOT a spelling option.  You will have your own large individual paddock and access to  the arena. This does not include storage of feed or tack room or stable access.

Our fully fenced double sized 60m x 40m sand arena is the perfect training facility.  With solar lights, poles and show jumping equipment, you have the ability to train your horse in a safe, enclosed arena. Full access for our agistment clients, but we also offer this space, subject to availabilty,  for visitors who would like access to a  training facility.

short term / holiday agistment

We all need a holiday but it can be hard finding someone to take care of your horse whilst you are away.  Our short term agistment is perfect if you are heading away, or if you are holidaying here in the SW you can bring your horse to stay with us.  Also ideal for those competing in the area and not wanting their horses cramped and tense overnight at comps.

Float parking included. It is best to supply your own feed but we can supply meadow hay if required.

Visiting coach

We have NCAS Level 11 coach, Karen Spice on a weekly basis here at Dunsborough Equine Lodge.  Karen is a highly experienced and supportive coach for riders and horses of all levels.  From the starting of young horses, through to the fine details of competing at FEI level, Karen can help you with your journey.

Karen has been involved with training and competing her entire life and brings over 40 years experience to her coaching role.  Still actively competing, she has just retired her Inter 1 dressage horse and is campaigning her young horse currently at Medium.

Whilst dressage is Karen's personal focus she is experienced and willing to coach across all disciplines and is excellent and adapting to the age and ability of both horse and rider.   

Show Prep

We can assist you with your show preparation, including offering a plaiting and clipping service at reasonable rates.

Professional Services

We have been in the industry for a long time and we have access to a range of professional services to ensure your horse is in top condition all the time.  From specialised equine vets, body workers, farriers and equine dentists, we can help you book the professional you need.  If you are short and time we can even handle your horse for their required appointments if you can't make it.

We are also confident and efficient when it comes to  handling many common injuries, etc. and are happy to administer prescribed medications , implement bandage changes and we know some of you get squeamish or are not confident when you need to needle medication so we can do this for you too!
